How to Contribute

Escortpedia welcomes contributions that make its reference material more accurate, better sourced and more useful. You do not need to be a professional writer to spot an error, identify an outdated definition or suggest a valuable source.

Start with an account

Create an Escortpedia account, or log in if you already have one. An account is required to submit article drafts and amendments through the website. You do not need a paid membership to contribute encyclopedia content.

After logging in, open an article and choose Edit or Contribute. To propose a new entry, open your profile and choose Create an article. Your profile shows your submissions and contribution history.

What contributions are useful?

You can suggest a correction to an existing article, provide a reliable citation, identify missing context, propose a new topic or explain regional differences in terminology. First-hand experience can help identify a question worth investigating, but it does not automatically establish a fact about a person or organisation.

For new topics, describe the subject, explain why it belongs in an encyclopaedia and include independent sources that establish its significance. We assess proposals for editorial value, not the number of links they contain.

New articles must contain at least 500 words, excluding source URLs. Corrections to existing articles have no minimum word count. The submission form shows your word count and both the form and server enforce the minimum.

External links and source suggestions

You can submit an external source without paying. List source suggestions in the form, one URL per line, and explain the factual claims they support. Accepting a source as evidence does not grant a clickable hyperlink. No external website receives an automatic exemption because of credibility, reputation, domain authority or the contributor's relationship declaration.

The External Links panel identifies internal links, external candidates and destinations needing action. For each external candidate, choose a paid sponsored placement, request free editorial review, keep an unlinked source suggestion or remove the hyperlink. Internal links to existing public Escortpedia content remain free and subject to normal editorial review.

Article submission and publication remain independent from purchasing links. An approved article can be published with unapproved external links rendered as ordinary text. Every user-submitted external hyperlink requires an active authorisation covering that placement, destination and content revision, including links in references, citations, biographies, agency websites and metadata.

Paid placements require an active membership, available allowance and independent editorial approval. Each placement uses one allowance unit; the same destination in two articles uses two units. There is no more than one paid placement per customer per article. All paid links are marked sponsored. Payment never guarantees publication, indexing or rankings.

Requesting a free editorial exemption

Open My links and choose Request free editorial review. Provide the source title, publisher, citation purpose, why a clickable link is necessary, supporting evidence and your relationship to the website. Explain any ownership, representation, promotional work or other commercial relationship truthfully.

An authorised independent editor may approve a free hyperlink, accept the source without a hyperlink, request clarification or reject the request with a reason. There is no automatic approval timer and editors cannot approve their own requests. Your account shows the decision and next actions.

Agency profiles

Use My agency profiles to submit factual agency information. Identity verification, content publication and website-link approval are separate decisions. Neither paying nor verifying identity creates a free website link. Extra hyperlinks hidden in a description follow the same external-link controls. Profile edits return for content review and require new link review where the placement context changes.

Before you submit

  1. Search Escortpedia for the topic and review related entries to avoid unnecessary duplication.
  2. Read our editorial policy and sources guidance.
  3. Separate verifiable statements from personal opinions, advertising claims and speculation.
  4. Provide the source title, publisher, publication date and original URL where available.
  5. Disclose if you represent, work for or have been paid by an organisation discussed in the material.

Writing guidelines

Use descriptive titles and a neutral voice. Define specialist terminology on first use. Prefer short sections with informative headings over excessive keyword repetition. Avoid sensationalism, unnecessary explicit detail, unsupported superlatives and claims of verification that cannot be substantiated.

Do not include identifying details about private individuals without a clear public-interest justification. Do not submit intimate imagery, private communications, identity documents, client records or material obtained without permission. References to abuse or exploitation must be handled with particular care and must not identify victims.

How suggestions are reviewed

Submit your proposal or correction through your logged-in account, including the article URL, the exact issue and your supporting source. It enters editorial review rather than changing the published article immediately. For follow-up questions, you can also contact hi@escortpedia.org. Editorial review may result in acceptance, revisions, a request for clarification or rejection. Submitting material does not guarantee publication, a response time or a link to your website.

Conflicts of interest and paid links

If you are an agency, marketer, contributor or business owner writing about your own organisation, disclose that relationship. Proposed changes about your own organisation are still subject to the same evidence standards. Commercial link requests must follow our separate link placement policy. Payment cannot purchase control of editorial conclusions.

After publication

Published material may be updated, condensed, attributed, removed or corrected for accuracy, safety or legal reasons. Follow our recent changes page for available change information, and contact us if a correction has been overlooked.
